The Mona School of Business in cooperation with the Spanish Court Hotel is hosting its inaugural breakfast lecture series on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Spanish Court Hotel from 7:30 – 9:30 AM. The First lecture will be given by Prof. Obika Gray, Professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Prof. Gray is Jamaican-born and the author of a book titled "Demeaned but Empowered: The Social Power of the Urban Poor in Jamaica". He will be speaking on the topic, "Assessing Jamaica's Post-Independence Development”. Over time, the lecture series will focus on solutions to issues faced by the nation, in a format that involves an address by an invited international speaker, comments on the lecture by a local discussant, and participant interaction.
