From the bauxite boom of the 1960s to the development of agriculture, manufacturing, housing, tourism and information technology, the industry has provided the infrastructure necessary to enable the development of these and all other sectors of the economy. As Jamaica strives to improve competitiveness, grasp economic opportunities, and to create a better life for its people, the industry must continue to provide the infrastructure that will enable success of the sectors.
